How tall is Kelingking beach?

Lets answer this question ” How tall is Kelingking beach?” In case you happened to happen across a picture of Kelingking Beach, you already know that it sounds like it is straight out of a dream, an enormous T- Rex head sticking into bright blue water. However, what turns out more amazing in the flesh is the height of the cliffs above the real beach. The cliff at the Kelingking Beach is about 150 up to 200 meters high which is approximately 500 to 650 feet above the sea level. About fifty-story building!

As you initially look down the top, you are at this romantic overview that seems as though it is the end of the world. The sight to the beach is breathtaking yet a little bit frightening. You can get a small idea of exactly how big this cliff is as you can see small dots on the sand which are then in fact people.

To reach the beach I actually had to descend that whole distance using a steep and rocky road. This path consists of dirt, rocks and some bamboo handrails, and takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to descend, and even longer to reverse it (upwards) in the heat. It is not a mountain to be taken lightly, and not for the unfit. If however you are reasonably fit and not afraid to a little scrambling the view at the bottom is well worth the upward effort.

The raw cliffs of Kelingking are also lending their touching contribution to the creation of the epic atmosphere of the beach. Such steep descent is the only way to reach the beach therefore making it a rather silent place in comparison to other places in Bali. Either you walk down it or simply enjoy it by the view on top, the majestic cliffs of Kelingking Beach makes the site one of the most well known coastal sceneries in all of Indonesia.
